InsideOut Dad®
Program Description
Specifically developed for the challenges incarcerated fathers face, InsideOut Dad® is an evidence-based program that connects incarcerated fathers to their children while they’re on the inside and prepares them for reentry when they get out. Research indicates that when inmates are connected to their family prior to release, they are less likely to return to prison.
Independent research has found that InsideOut Dad® increases fathers’ contact with children and develops pro-fathering knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Hundreds of federal, state, and local corrections facilities—and transitional programs run by community-based organizations—use this life-changing program. Research has also found that the program can, when combined with other cognitive-behavioral interventions, contribute to a reduction in recidivism rates.
